Despite what most professionals believe, Lean Six Sigma is not limited to Engineers, Finance, Procurement, or Operations people. Lean Six Sigma is for anyone who wants to:

  • improve their process,

  • bring innovation to the company, and

  • pursue professional development

And that's where our story begins. 

Mr. Pablito "Pabs" Durano, Jr. is a professional from the retail and supply chain industry. His work revolved around Learning and Development under the Human Resources Department of his company, but Pabs admits that he has a soft heart for data and statistics. This passion led him to pursue a certification in Lean Six Sigma with the knowledge that the discipline will help him pursue his passion and vision. 

Using his newly acquired skills and knowledge during the training, the DivergenZ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Navigator, and coaching sessions with MBB Ed Torno, Pabs convinced the Management (his company) to give and support his project. 

The completion of Pabs' project led to his organization's financial savings* and Management's more profound understanding of the benefits of Lean Six Sigma in their organization in terms of processes improvement and increasing customer experience.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that organizations are not just the ones who benefit from Lean Six Sigma. Pabs received his major reward when he was promoted from being a Training and Development Officer to Business Analyst under Operations Excellence Department.


Mr. Durano says, "I have been interested in numbers and how raw data transforms into very vital information. I have practiced this passion in mine in the HR department, utilizing data and numbers to drive results. My efforts did not go unnoticed, and I can truly claim that it is because of Lean Six Sigma (and my mentor, MBB Ed Torno) that I was able to get my dream job of being a Business Analyst in the Operations Excellence department.”
